Working as a team with your dentist in Macclesfield

Having strong, healthy, great-looking teeth is a matter of teamwork between you and Waters Green Dental and Implant Clinic, your high-quality private dentist in Macclesfield.

We each play an important role in giving you teeth for life and neither can do their part without full participation from the other.

Together we are joined in the never-ending task of keeping plaque at bay, preventing tooth decay and infection and stopping teeth from falling apart.

Your role in having teeth for life

Your role is very important. What you do every day with regard to your oral hygiene affects what we do when you come to the dentist in Macclesfield for a check-up.

You are tasked with twice daily removal of plaque, and food that has got trapped between your teeth. Plaque is that sticky layer of bacteria that builds up on your teeth between meals. It gives off acids that lead to tooth decay and gum disease.

You keep on top of it by removing it with 2 minutes of brushing with soft-bristled brush and fluoride toothpaste. You also need to floss carefully between your teeth and under your gums to remove it.

Your other responsibility is to come to the dentist in Macclesfield twice a year (unless we ask you to come more often) for a check-up and a scale and polish with the hygienist to remove any plaque you have missed.

Our role in you having teeth for life

Your check-up is our opportunity to look for the early signs of tooth decay, gum disease and damage to the teeth, as well as oral cancer. If we can spot any of these problems early on, they are much easier and less expensive to treat.

A tiny white filling takes minutes and costs from £60. Root canal treatment to save an infected tooth takes much longer, requires anaesthetic and maybe sedation and costs from £200.

If we have to extract a tooth, replacing it with a bridge will set you back £385 and you will have to sacrifice 2 healthy teeth to act as buttresses. Opt for a dental implant and the cost is at least £1390.

Book that check-up now and let’s get you back on track.
